[ Give Mom a Break….Tablescape It ]
Do something special for your mom on Mother’s Day. Get that china that has been in the family on the table. Yes, the one with all the rose buds and floral!
Children can hand wash that china. Invite every mother who needs a place to go. Enjoy generations of mothers on this day.
Place Setting: Started with a fuchsia floral placemat. China from Paris, how pretty is this! Roses, scallop edge, navy and gold trim makes it look like a setting from Versailles, well almost.
The plates are smaller than today’s dinner plates, so, I started layering the setting. I added a Royal Copenhagen blue trimmed dinner plate, and to brighten it up a contemporary fuchsia and gold bread and butter plate. A top it all, I did mini pedestal saltcellars. These were great for my, lobster ragoon chef tasting.
Add the fuchsia napkins and gold flatware. For a European flare I decided to use “juice” glasses for the wine. They are elegant, and the height of them created a plateau for the centerpiece.
Centerpiece: Roses, roses and more roses in the center, surrounded by teacups filled with mini floral, and tea lights in between. The teacups with the floral make a wonderful sweet gift.
Happy Mother’s Day!
