[Score with this Table]

Can't pass up the opportunity to create a super Super Bowl table! With everyone talking about healthy diets, I want to provide a half time meal that my friends would enjoy and go back for seconds.

To prepare for the party I develop my menu.

  • Vagabound Turkey Chili (recipe to follow)

  • Spinach Salad

  • Olives

  • Cheese and Crackers

  • Deviled Eggs

  • Mushroom & Goat Cheese Crustini (recipe to follow)

Design the table.

Couldn't bring myself to put artificial turf on my table. I decided on a rustic table with referee stripes. I ran to the fabric store and purchased a 54 inch by 54 inch fabric square. A square works on most tables, just place it over a basic white cloth.

Go to your closet and find some cutting boards, wooden bowls and baskets for cheese, salad and bread. I have MacKenzie-Childs trays and some antique bread boards. The antique bread board, found at a flea market, is great for displaying an assortment of crackers.

The theme continues with a slate cheese board.

Serve your chili in a crock, stoneware, cask iron or an earthenware soup tureen.

Have the game score as a focal point. It's easy with a chalk board from Michaels.

Go Team!
