[Skelton on the Plate ]

Get to the bones! Want your table to have some spunk? These melamine skull plates add seasonal creativity to your tablescape. Placed as a salad or dessert plate, they add just the ‘spookiness’ for the Halloween table. Don’t overlook those party cutouts. There are lots of skeleton paper products available at party stores. To add punch, pick the color theme and run that thru as you would your fashion accessories.

Choose your skulls wisely; black and white; black, white and pink or apple green; black, white and purple. All of these can be accented with gold or silver. Remember, gold is a warm color and silver is a cool color tone. I mention color, because I purchased the plates displayed, and then I purchased white ceramic skulls with multiple colors. The two didn't work together. The plates worked best with the silver skulls.

Place Setting: Straw chargers with silver dinner plates, and the melamine skull plates. The skull plates were from Home Goods, but I have also seen them at Pier 1.

Centerpiece: Added paper skull cutouts to enhance the white floral arrangement. . For a couple of dollars, it works! I had to add my skeleton tea lights. Early in the season I start looking for these tea lights. Good places to find them are Home Goods and Michaels. For those who really want to splurge, check out these highball glasses with skulls.

Bodega had them on display. As many of you know, I have an abundance of glasses!

Happy Halloween!
