[ Back to School ]

Welcome the first day of school with the anticipation of new learning. Ideas come from what we see, hear, or touch. We can imagine via books and travel. It's also fall but there is still a touch of summer in the air. So, let's set a fall from summer table.

Centerpiece: Dig out that old globe or find one in a thrift shop. If you travel. send postcards to children, so they can find the location on the globe. Add some books, and dahlias or mums. My ivy topiary needed trimming. I used the trimmings to create a garland for the table. Without water the garland lasted 2 days.

Add a bright color for happiness and excitement. I found some napkins with fuchsia which provides that pop of brightness and delight.

Place Setting: Green with use of the Italian leaf plates. I wasn't sure of the napkin. I used the napkin under the plate and just placed a leaf on the plate. Also, had the option of adding an apple green napkin with Kim Seybert beaded napkin ring. which also worked well. Notice that I alternated the depression glassware between yellow and green.
