[ VĀSE or VĂZE part 2 ]

What is your vase-style? It's time to step out of the box or rather traditional vase. With spring

around the corner, and the flower market is blooming! Let's combine blooms and vases. My flower market is the grocery store, and I have selected; alstroemeria, anemones, and baby's breath.

Flower: Alstroemeria were on sale buy one get one free. Purchased 2 bouquets, white and green. (St. Patrick's day is this week, so, these will make great centerpieces.) They are a good filler, last longer, and can be cut to fit many non traditional vases. Alstroemeria is commonly called the Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas

Vases or Sans Vases: For a sans vase, add the white Alstroemeria to a green lettuce pattern teapot. The contrast is vibrant! Here is an example of mix and match. I found a wired teapot that traditionally holds a tea light, and added clover. For you traditionalist, I switched the teapot for vintage milk glass. A vase for the flowers, and a sugar bowl for the clover.

Do you have a teapot without a lid? Use it as a sans vase. This centerpiece is using a vintage Chinese Rose Medallion patterned teapot for our floral arrangement. Same flowers but a new look is created.

With St. Patrick's day on the horizon, couldn't pass an opportunity to display the clover two more ways. Choose either a vintage milk glass juice glass, or a delicate bone china bouillon cup. The calk white creates a strong visual contrast.
